I think he'll be off. We'll be looking for a new number one and he wont' want to be on the bench - unless it's at a big club earning more than we'd pay.
Does that mean Walton will be no2 again? Will he agree/want that, or will we sign two new keepers?
In an ideal world we sell Walton and keep Hladky to compete with a new signing who's good with his feet.

We played kamikaze football at Portman Road, deliberately so and we lost 1 game so it clearly worked but conceded a number of goals because we just left ourselves open in an attempt to win the game
The football we played away from home was much more secure, we had the second best defence in the league away from home - 25 goals in 23 games, including the 7 across Leeds and Hull games...!
Vas has been excellent for us, was easily one of our players of the season but feels as though people had made their mind up on him before he played and can't change it.
The key spine of the team is an obvious area to upgrade, and I won't be surprised if we try to do so in goal - but Hladky would be fine if we don't |
I wouldn't be disappointing if Hladky started the season for us, and long term I think it's a position that needs strengthening overall.
As pointed out by 1 or 2 others on this thread, I think it'll come down to whether Hladky is prepared to accept a 1-2 year deal here and potentially be number 2, or financially secure himself a 3 year deal elsewhere as number 1 - possibly back in the Championship or up in Scotland again. |  |

I mean he is a professional goalkeeper. The majority of these are near post and routine. There are about 4/5 non routine saves in that. You are also ignoring the routine saves he didn't cover himself with glory and the total panic any time a ball is played into our box at a set piece.
Again, we are talking about the Prem with some of the best players in the world. KMcK has already hinted that our ability to dictate play will be tested and will need a variety of approaches. He will have less time on the ball and he will no doubt be called into action more and I think it's a ridiculously obvious area for strengthening. |
No one is suggesting this area doesn't need strengthening. I'm with Joe inasmuch as I'd retain Hladky so that we have first class cover and competition for places. Just as Omari and Chappers would be good for the No 10 position.
Just putting to bed the nonsense that Hladky isn't a good shot stopper. |  |

I'd like him to stick around because I really do believe he has earned his shot at playing Prem footy. However, I think the fact we have got to this point with no deal means a deal is unlikely to happen.
When you take the emotion out of it, Town's player trading strategy won't be favouring paying a 33YO (34 in Nov) decent wages with Walton already on the books and the potential of a new number one keeper coming in.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if we ended the window with Hladky and Walton both starting elsewhere and two new keepers on our books. Rushworth sounds like he's definitely of interest and then maybe one of Sam Johnstone/ Dean Henderson/ Nick Pope on favourable loan terms if any of those are sitting on the bench come the middle of August. |  | | |
