"Jeremy Corbyn style manifesto" on 21:22 - Jun 11 by positivity | yet he managed to lose 3m of those in 2 years. he'd have been down to 2-3m by now at that rate of attrition, i reckon starmer might do better than that! |
Well that's because it became a Brexit election and the forces of the status quo had time to do their work. Regardless let's see how many votes Starmer inspires.

"Jeremy Corbyn style manifesto" on 21:47 - Jun 11 by Ryorry | This might shock you, but some people do vote tatically. And then after another 2 years of Corbyn's "leadership", voters were even more disillusioned with him. Edit: I'm going to let the Freudian slip "tatically" stand, as it seems apt for discussing most (not all) politicians :) [Post edited 11 Jun 2024 21:51]

I don't even see that election as being about Corbyn but more that a genuine alternative agenda was finally on the table which is why ultimately the cult of leader had to be used to destroy what he embodied.

"Jeremy Corbyn style manifesto" on 22:15 - Jun 11 with 709 views | DJR | Changing tack slightly, but carrying on with the integrity theme, and with my civil service hat on, this is another thing that troubles me. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/article/2024/jun/11/top-civil-servant-edf-d This (or former ministers doing the same) has been going on for a long time but in my view it blurs the distinction between public and private and just shouldn't be happening. In effect, it is a type of corruption, but they get away with it perhaps because it is not so blatant as in some other countries. [Post edited 11 Jun 2024 22:15]

of course it is , because your bogeyman "forces of the status quo" didn't exist in 2017?! this phantom force were far more likely to get behind a may than a johnson! i'm confident starmer will get far more votes than corbyn would've, even sunak may get more than 2-3m... it was all about corbyn, he destroyed it with his words and his (lack of) actions, unfortunately. if only we'd have had someone even half-competent, or half-suited to a leadership role, how different things would have been. an andy burnham would've trounced may and maybe prevented brexit before that. sliding doors...

"Jeremy Corbyn style manifesto" on 19:37 - Jun 11 by BanksterDebtSlave | I didn't say differently but we have all been paying the price ever since! Edit...isn't it funny how easily money can be made to grow on trees at times. Happy to help! [Post edited 11 Jun 2024 19:39]

And the likelihood is that you would have still paid the same price whoever was in government. The difference is, that with Corbyn, you would probably be paying a greater price.
