More and more of it happening now, last year there were masses of transfers at U16 level (including us losing Callum Logan to Spurs), most of it between cat 1 academies.
This year it has got younger, and will be ~30 U14s moving between academies as parents know it is much easier to pull them now rather than sign a pre-scholarship |
So does it not then beg the question as to whether the academy is worth having? If the best players are never going to play for the first team because they get poached by the big wigs (which we will never stop from happening) what is the point of the investment? |  | | |

You just have to make sure your offering makes them want to stay - the only team who got rid of their academy is Brentford (an d possibly Huddersfield) and are in much different situations to us where they have massive clubs on their literal doorstep |  |
