Ticket master Dynamic Pricing! 11:56 - Jun 21 with 2220 views | norfsufblue | So though I knew I would be too late just had a look for Paul McCartney tickets at The O2.... a few keep popping up but even the touts would bulk at the prices they are asking for rubbish single seats!... hope this will not be adopted in our sport any time soon but I'm sure someone will soon find examples for me already... It really is a complete rip off IMHO!

I'm done with enormo-gigs now. The Regent, Apex and Corn Exchange have some really good ones and aren't a rip-off.
Ticket master Dynamic Pricing! on 13:01 - Jun 21 with 1979 views | NedPlimpton | I worked for a company that had just started to partner with Ticketmaster for some things and we had a pitch from them that explained how their system worked. Basically when people join a queue or waiting room before tickets for a big event go on sale, they would assess demand based on how many people were in that queue and adjust prices accordingly. E.g. for Taylor Swift people joined a waiting room before knowing what the ticket price would actually be and because there were 100,000's of people waiting they knew that they could charge whatever they wanted. Yes, it's basic supply and demand but it's still horrible and ticket prices should be set before you join a queue so that you don't end up with the pressure of paying more than you can afford just because you managed to get through to the point of purchase

That you for that explanation. It makes me even more determined not to get anything from them again.

Would have been mid 2000s when I’d first moved here and would go to a lot of baseball games midweek. Tickets themselves were usually around $20 but were double that by the time all the Ticketmaster fees had been added on. Utter bastards.

Agree 100%. I'm really not doing these £100+ gigs at stadia or the O2 anymore as I just don't find the whole experience great - difficult travel, rip off drinks added on to a sky high ticket, especially for people on a pension fund tour. I really wonder why anyone would pay a fortune to hear McCartney croak, unless they want to tick off & pay homage to a legend.
