Is he a potential replacement? is he good enough?

Poll: If we sing for 90 mins for all remaining games, how many points is it worth?

He probably is good enough. Great shot stopper. Highly regarded with a ton of first team experience for someone of his age. He rejected a contract extension last week and with one year remaining on his current deal Plymouth will be looking to sell him. I've seen him linked with a few EPL teams.

The two knocks are that he has two knee injuries which could be a concern, and some question whether he's good enough with the ball at his feet.

He'd certainly be on my list, as would Rushworth. But I've been an admirer of Dominik Livaković since the World Cup and would also love for us to get Koen Casteels. Both are more experienced and proven, which may come in handy the first year back in the top flight..

I do wonder if part of the whole Hladky thing might be that we are after a No1 with Premier League experience and the Cooper/Rushworth thing is a smokescreen, (Ashton has put up plenty of those previously).

Poll: Is it more annoying when builders

I think I'd prefer Casteels over Livakovic, although I imagine he's on a fairly lucrative contract over in Saudi.

I would take Rushworth from what I have read about him.

Poll: Would Lambert have acheived better results than Cook if given the same resources

I find this type of potential signing talk staggering.

We are now in the Premier League and have a history of Ashton and McKenna being able to sell the dream to get players we probably shouldn't be able to get.

We are now realistically looking at players that are staring at the Euro's, able to attract fringe players from clubs like Napoli or Real Betis or even starters from teams like Lille or Malmo or Copenhagen.

Yet the name names I'd have been pleased with us getting in League One and indifferent to signing in the Championship are popping up.

Cooper looks a decent keeper above League One level. He's had two big injuries in two seasons. There is no way he's going to ever be good enough to get in front of the likes of keepers we can now realistically attract or will be looking at. We are signing players for £5m, £10m, £15m this window.

I can't see him even being considered remotely good enough for #2.

Would expect it might be a big name signing (or someone like Kelleher on loan) and behind them will be an experienced free agent back up most likely.

Villa came up and not long after got Emi Martinez I think? Sheffield United loaned Dean Henderson and Aaron Ramsdale, both around the England squad then and just after. Forest got Navas! I just can't see Ashton and McKenna looking at anyone who isn't a young keeper, with a bit of experience but a massive amount of potential improvement still.

Rushworth is one tipped to be an England keeper by everyone that's worked with him it seems.
