Just be aware that we've paid £20m for a similar player.
If we feel that Hutch can make an impact, then no reason why Delap wouldn't either.
Delap has had more league experience than Hutch and (IMHO) his goal return last season underplays how effective he is.
I'm not saying we should pay £20m but I don't think that is an unrealistic valuation for a player, if you make comparisons to Hutch (albeit they are playing different positions). |  |

For me, this is where Delap (with a return of 8) is mis understood, his overall game is really rather good and would fit really well into our system and style of play. | |

He's perfect for the way we play and the like for like replacement for Hirst that we need. However, he's no better than Hirst, and for that money, you would want a significant upgrade. £20m when we spent about 3 on Hirst is ridiculous. 8-10m it's worth getting it done, I would walk away at any higher tbh.
We definitely need 2 strikers 1 to complete or improve on Hirst. I genuinely expect big things from Hirst this season though, he's been so impressive. | | | |
