Remember Brandon Williams, an occasional ManU player is on £60k a week, Eddie Nketiah, an occasional Arsenal player is apparently on £80k a week. That's the standard wage for occasional players, so you can assume Johnson is going to be on something similar at West Ham and thus us now. |  | | |

I'd be surprised if the wages were that high, in Brentfords first season in the Prem they were averaging £30k p/w albeit inflation etc.

He was allegedly on £20k a week at WHU but wanted £60k a week to sign a new deal. WHU weren’t prepared to pay him that much. Other teams were interested like Rangers but they baulked at his wage demands. He is on a free transfer so no fee means he can negotiate higher wages but not sure Town would pay £60k a week wages. I suspect it’s somewhere in between with a relegation clause meaning he has to take a pay cut if town are relegated.

Sounds likely.
I think our fans are out of touch with PL finances. Compare our record transfer fee from 2001 with now. Wages have increased in a similar way. I doubt there are any established prem players on contracts of less that 30-40k a week.
This guy is young, and has PL experience and getting him on a free is always going to increase the wage you have to pay a little bit.
That’s why some players are happy to run down their contract if they know they have plenty of interest and want to move on.
I can’t imagine Omari’s contract is much less than 50k if at all. |  |

That £5m might well be the signing on fee. Spread over five years that's around £18k pw on top of his salary which may well, be around the £40k pw mark. Keiffer is on £40k pw at Bournemouth. |  | | |

Not bad really. So say he got 1.5 million signing on fee, then 60k a week =£3120000 x 4 =£12480000 or as near as damned 12.5 million so total outlay around 14 million. Added to the 18 million for Omari (I know there are add on's, but we don't know what they entail) so £32 million for two Premier League players. That's cheap. | | | |

Actually, I think Nelly has a point here.
Keeping the squad happy and together is critical, and will be so much harder now.
Whilst there has probably already been a wide range of what players were paid, it will now be crazy. Johnson could be on 3 or 4 times what Morsy or Chaplin is on (total guess at the multiples).
