Hello good people I hope to find you all healthy and well.
How are your waterbutts doing? So far to date I have four 240 litre rammed with Adams Ale as my dear Grandmother called it,one 80 litre waterbutt connected to my main down pipe,I then drain it off into my surplus butts and four 80 litre dustbins full!
I had started to use old milk bottles to collect more rain water,but Lady B thought it was a tad odd.
In other news Yesterday I saw two Butterflies and a few bumble bees,they seem very slow to start up this year.Then a thunderstorm arrived and that was that. |  |

My water butt was only put in a couple of months ago as part of the drainage for a log cabin in the garden and it had been going fine. There was always enough to water the plants and always had a decent level left over.
Last 2 weeks has seen it full to almost overflowing! Will have to find some additional uses or else I'll have to just run a hose to the main drainage and let it all go. Could do with some nice sunny weather while I'm in such surplus! [Post edited 8 Jul 2024 9:23]

You shoulda rescued & recycled that old loo you pictured yourself sitting on at one building sit!
I hope you noticed that I called your butts "legendary" on a thread mentioning you last week ...
The pallets my garden shed was based on have rotted somewhat, resulting in it now being the Leaning Shed of Ripon, the gutter & downpipe to the Butt falling away, and it now being an empty butt 
On the plus side, all our water is from our groundwater well, so it's free (well apart fron the £500 annual service & water analysis fee ..)

Yes I did see that,I believe we should use as much rainwater as we can,I mean it’s free all you have to do is save it somehow.It’s also loads better for the plants especially those in tubs and containers.
This summer just won’t break will it,it’s supposed to rain a lot again Tuesday and be nice again Wednesday,but hey at least everything is nice and green and the lawns don’t burn off! | |

It’s a nice pub,but like many it struggles at times which is a shame.
I haven’t been to Dedham for a little while,it’s one of my cycling routes when I want to do some hills,and from Benters I can cut through the beautiful lanes of Bromley etc. | |

Yes mate,I have been out a lot this year so far.
I spend the winter months walking around the fields (I have wet weather gear) so it’s safer than cycling in the winter.
I started up in March gradually building my distance up,I am doing around 135k a week in 4 rides.
Not this week though as Lady B is off and we have been out a fair bit doing other things. | |
