When it has really boiled down to it... 17:25 - Jul 9 with 2106 views | tractorboy1978 | McKenna has delved straight into the market he knows best - young, English players he knows inside out ability/personality wise, that he knows are coachable and that he backs himself to improve. I wonder if we will actually see a signing from abroad this window now? If Downes or Sheaf and Rushworth get done, possibly not!

When it has really boiled down to it... on 17:29 - Jul 9 with 2022 views | FrimleyBlue | Financially its a dream for ashton these signings. Any form of success and he can wack on a big chunk of English tax to the fees. Before you even look at what they're actually worth. The off pitch benefit. Easier to integrate with players already at the club. No need to worry about home sickness, language barriers and just concentrate on the football. I think when we were a champ club I really wanted to see signings from abroad but mainly because of the gems you can find. However with finances available it makes absolute sense to stick to homegrown players for fina vial gains in future but as said it makes it much much easier for KM to manage.

True, but bear in mind we have paid a chunk of 'english tax' when signing them. I'm happy with the signings so far. They wont all be a huge success, but I'm excited to see what happens. I think we are saving the two Prem loans for players of more experience.

Was thinking of this earlier. Is there a mid 20s pre. Experienced CM who might be up for a loan...

My knowledge of the Prem isn't good enough. I would potentially put a cheeky bid in for Sander Berge though. I think KM could make a player out of him.

Yes you can, but there is a limit of two in the squad, four overall, no players signed in the same window and not more than one from the same club. Well, that was the 2023-24 rules, assume the current ones will be much the same. https://www.premierleague.com/news/464747
