I think a lot of his dismissals have been to the short ball. WI definitely tried that tactic with him last night but he seemed to get over the ball a lot more. This morning, I've no idea what their plan is other than hoping they can replace the ball so they can possibly get more movement.

He’s already scored three test centuries in Pakistan and a big one in New Zealand on previous tours. So not sure those destinations are the best examples for ‘wait and see’

Yes that was directly opposite us. Looked around the other tiled roofs and it looks like it’s not the first time that’s happened at Trent Bridge. H&S will be onto them, no doubt 😁

He is young, but his Test career so far is a large enough data set to make preliminary judgements. Over 20 innings and over 1000 Test runs is a sufficient sample size. Root may go past Cook's All Time England Highest Test Run Scorer record this year, having begun his career batting alongside Cook. It's too early to say that Brook WILL go past Root (any sportsperson is potentially one injury away from the end of their career at any point) but there is the possibility that, having begun his career playing alongside him, Brook could overtake Root.

As Arnold said above, I think we have a large enough data set now to say he's the real deal. 5 hundreds and 8 fifties from 23 innings is impressive, especially when the majority of his tests have been either in Pakistan, New Zealand or last summer's home Ashes. Obviously he'll have some low scores over time and his batting average won't stay in the 60's, but the last young batsman who had this kind of impact early in his test career was Joe Root, and he turned out OK.
