Eg if there was say, 15-20k people trying to get the few remaining match day tickets would that not indicate that the re developed PR capacity could cater for around 40k fans…. ?

I’ve heard that capacity has been reduced by around 800 from last seasons 29.6k. All will be revealed once the attendance is announced against the scousers.

I’d imagine they’ll want to review how the season goes and analyse other clubs previously in our position before committing to too many more seats. First premier league game in 22 years, at home to Liverpool, after two years playing exciting football averaging circa 60% win rate. Of course there’s going to be huge demand. Let’s see how keen supporters are for tickets for Brentford at home in April if we’re facing relegation. Hopefully we won’t be in that situation but the point stands.

I noticed in the Ashton vid that they've fitted a few more in at the bottom of Churchman's/SAR in the corner nearest the away fans. Kind of a rounded bank of seats. At least they looked new.

Against that is those we lost to the new press area, and I also noticed that the Cobbold lower visitors section has lost some seating in the front few rows to what I assume is disabled/wheelchair areas. I presume thats a Prem regulation that we must provide.

Wouldn't surprise me. The new press area will mean they lose a lot of seats in that area. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

But then some would’ve been added where the old press area was, also added some in SARU and Cobbold Upper, plus the new executive lounges.

Press seating area would be included in capacity. The increase in away support area is the main reason we have lost home support volume. I hope if/when we build the new east stand it's "Build around the existing" to minimize the loss of home support. Blind Freddie can see a lot of angst otherwise.

Yip, it’s going to a tough ask this season and our home form will be critical. All clubs get fair weather / floating support, and Town is no different. But maybe the Club needs to factor that transient floating support in their re development, because it’s income. Building a new stand for an extra 10k seats might be just as expensive to build as a stand for 15k seats but the income is 50% more for the same outlay. But I agree, the Club will be looking to establish itself in PL b4 committing to such an outlay. It’s all going in the right direction though…
