“….maybe we’re too polite here. Overall I think we’re too nice”. Roy Keane didn’t get much right in his time here but this summed the club up well.

We’ve now got a set up that has delivered success beyond what most of us thought possible . We are lucky to have a Chief Exec who will do what needs to be done to keep us moving forward, a manager who is always calm and objective and a captain with a bit of a nasty streak to him that has been pivotal in all we’ve achieved in two years.

Those who are worried about reputational damage because we changed our plans in respect of a friendly need to toughen up. We’re about to compete in the most demanding, ruthless, league we’ll ever play in. Ipswich first, Ipswich in the middle and Ipswich last for me now. I couldn’t care less what anyone else thinks of us.

Poll: Most enjoyable calendar year as an Ipswich supporter

Absolutely nothing wrong with treating others with integrity and respect. That does not preclude success. Its just basic decency.

It is right and normal to be uncomfortable with reneging on an agreement.

That does not mean it was not the correct decision in all the circumstances.

I’d say we’re nicer as a club now than under Keane, and Evans in general. No more petulant death stare interviews and banning local journalists, the revival of our community and charity work, a MUCH classier manager. Sure, Morsy has an edge. But it’s not as if we didn’t have the likes of Ben Thatcher and Lee Bowyer before. Morsy is ten times a nicer person than those. And well-respected in the game. Don’t confuse having an edge with not being nice.

Keane was just making excuses for his ineptitude.

"Need to toughen up" lol.

It's not about being tough, we've had all the attributes you've stated over the last two seasons and we have correctly done things. This time we have let our standards slip for whatever the reasons. We could have played a few of our starters and subbed them off at halftime or even just bought a few for a cameo role. The fact it was billed as a first-team game, with town fans flying over and buying tickets on that basis only for it to change at the last minute is pretty poor from the club.

Remember when Lazio reneged on that friendly which was part of the Sereni deal? They were mocked for years and even now they are the butt of a joke when it comes to these types of shenanigans.
