I always feel that when a club loans a player to another team that this silly business about them not being able to play against the club they are loaned from is stupid. The club loaning obviously don't think the player is good enough or doesn't fit in. So why are they afraid ? My only concern with Phillips is he needs to cut back on his rashness in the tackle. We already have Morsy who is prone to getting himself suspended so the last thing we need is the replacement or sub for Morsy being out more than in. Why I say he is the sub for Morsy as I see him more like Morsy than Loungo and really that makes me a little apprehensive that we don't have a playmaker in midfield unless KM is thinking of Taylor sitting in front of a defensive pairing.

Guess its to protect the integrity of the competition. What if we're mid table, we have Man City last game and they need to win and Phillips gives away a penalty or something. You can imagine the accusations that would fly about.

Phillips isn't joining to be on the bench. He'll play alongside Morsy in the short term I think.
