A good, objective review of the game from a Fulham journalist. Nice to hear good opinions of our team, our chances this season, and our fantastic support.

I've been feeling that our big strengths of togetherness, consistency and calm, intelligent adaptability (all driven majestically by KMc of course) along with a good squad of players would see us competitive for survival. Blogs like this calibrate and validate that view for me.

Good listen, under KMc we have been playing the type of football that a top 6 club would play, but without top 6 players. KMc, Martyn Pert and the coaching team are pushing hard this season to get as close as possible to top six performances and the team already look good. I guess we will hear a lot of the same as 2000/2001 season that Town were "not that good", other teams were poor. I will take that with a smile.

That's a good point about playing top six style football. It's aspirational and we'll develop well and quickly with it particularly as we add (have added) new quality players to the squad. We'll fall down with it at times, but the two great things we have in our favour - and why this is perfect timing to take this 'rare' opportunity - are the fantastic unwavering support through the not-so-good moments and, of course, the leadership and brilliance of KMc.

Glad he mentioned the atmosphere, it felt really, really loud to me (and a roar for a goal that could have been from a derby or play-off game).

Really happy that it seems that people are really up for it this season, and I think we'll keep that momentum by virtue of having so few home games in the next few weeks.

All the new signings looked good on Saturday, I am particularly looking forward to seeing more of Kalvin Philips and Jens Cajuste in mid-field, both look quality on the ball.

Jens - a Rolls Royce in there.

My lad and I were really impressed with Cajuste. He seems to glide around the pitch with little effort and carries the ball very well

There was even quite a lot of "Ipswich aren't all that" last season, even as we dispatched team after team on our rise up the table.

Our first three signings were Hutchinson, Greaves and Delap who all seem to be Premier level. Looking on the worst side if we do get relegated they will fund our promotion back.

It was interesting to here murphy rip into Southampton for trying to play out from the back 'when they are clearly not good enough to do it'. He reckoned they would get caught out and not win many if they carried on that way.

I wonder what he'll say about us! I hope it will be another of those 'You can't win anything with kids' comments!

Interestingly Micah Richards had similar comments, but when asked about Ipswich, all he could say was that he liked Delap, Hutchinson, Szmodics and Greaves.

He lost the ball early on and they countered, but after that he was superb on the half-turn and looks to be that dynamic midfielder that could help us turn draws into wins.

Murphy is as dull as ditchwater, whistles through his teeth as he endlessly drones on and is clueless. He and his breathtakingly stupid chums are interested in the big six clubs only and the rest are there as fodder to be laughed at.

Saturday was the first time in years I’d watched MOTD. I won’t bother again.

TBF to Richards at least he could reel off some names. Shearer is a disgrace in that regard, does no research on anything below the rich 6 and his Newcastle.

Why fund it , stay and be part of it is the best option just like those that stayed with Leicester last season …..we’re Ipswich Town what’s not to like !

Perhaps not quite a Rolls Royce. I'd say more of a JENson Interceptor.
