Anyone in the UK seen the Aurora tonight? 02:32 - Sep 13 with 1473 views | Ryorry | Got a red alert re visibility to the naked eye all over UK, went out twice 01.45 & 02.00 (North Yorks, clear sky) but think I was a few minutes too late, though I did see a spectacular shooting star quite low in the N the first time; & got a faint green hue in NE on my phone the second time. Some great images from Scotland & Wales on X; & one eye-witness alleging they saw it from Muswell Hill in London!

Piece of advice; never take a photo of it when it is cold.

From @aurorawatchuk. aurorawatchapp.uk The alerts are almost always too short notice to be useful to me though - not sure if it’s technically possible for them to be sent earlier, if so, there might be other apps which are better.
