I was actually thinking the same about Life on Mars. It was made in 2003 going back in time to 1973. 30 years ago was 1994. Other than iPhones and iPods etc, society hasn’t moved on as quickly as it did from 1973 to 2003.

I don't know about that, you look at 90s era television shows, there's a bunch of stuff that's just as radically different from 73-03.
In fact that was going to be the premise of a Goodnight Sweetheart revival, Gary the time traveller stuck in the 2016s completely at odds with his 90s outlook, but it never went beyond a pilot.
