Just taken a look on one of their forums and there's a thread on previous encounters:-
Ipswich away special 84/85 - Sharp double my first EFC game, we hit the top over the xmas period and stayed there. 85/86 2 4-3 win, was 2-0 down early on as well, Lineker going around Paul Cooper at 3-3 and getting dragged down and Steven scoring the penalty for the winner 91/92 - 1-0 defeat, terrible game on a drab late November day 93/94 - 2-0 win and Barlow lobbing the keeper early on, loads of Everton in with the Ipswich fans behind the goal outing themselves with that goal and getting turfed into the away end 94/95 - Rideout goal just before the cup final securing our safety and Ipswich fans running on the pitch to applaud us.
I remember the Sharp double game, the 3-4 game & 0-2 game but I've got no recollection of the pitch invasion and applause - anyone similar aged recall this??

That was our last game at home prior to relegation from the PL. Stuart Barlow got a stupid second yellow card for time wasting.
The pitch invasion seemed to be the traditional end of season season one plus a half arsed everybody out (except Burley) protest after an embarrassing season.

Yeah, that sounds more like it - can't recall the applause bit at all..

I didn't go (probably work that year) but it was probably just polite applause to opposition fans at the end of the season, was the same versus Man Utd the year before when we went on the pitch.
The 3-4 game was my first ever match, there's a distinct lack of footage of it which is a shame because I don't remember very much about it.
We stood in the Pioneer terrace towards the Everton fans and I remember thinking how many there were of them and how loud they were. Kevin Wilson scored a beauty of a curler past Southall to put us 2-0 up, he was right in front of us and we had a perfect view of it.
