I think we have to try Hirst up front as a starter. I know Delap has done well but his hold up play is not as good. Right now we are unable to get the ball to stick up front at all.

Bring Delap on at 60

Poll: If we sing for 90 mins for all remaining games, how many points is it worth?

I agree. Our game the last two years was about the centre forward providing the platform for those around him to do the scoring. We have brought Smodiczs and Clarke, to compliment, Chaplin, Broadhead, Burns, and Omari, and all those seem to be to need Hirst more than Delap. I also feel that Delap after and hour or so would be a nightmare for tiring defenders

It would be interesting to play both, have Delap more on the right and play him like a Jon Walter’s. He would scare the crap out of the left back. Maybe it will give teams more to worry about than just covering leif on the left and doubling up on Omari who would then actually have more space as a 10 due to us having Delap and Hirst up top.

I agree with this. I think the only reason we haven't done it is those two are our only top level 9s. If we had one more to be able to bring on later, I'm relatively sure we'd have tried this by now.

I have advocated on more than one occasion that overlapping yhe substitutions of Delap/Hirst or vice versa might be worth a go.... even if it was a double spearhead for a few minutes to upset the heart of sn opposition defence and maybe create a bit of space wider.... or moving Delap wide as already suggested

I don't see Delap as an out and out striker. I am ok with him and Hutchinson behind Hirst.

Poll: New hobby suggestions for NeedhamChris.
