The Coote ref 16:59 - Nov 20 with 1375 views | FrimleyBlue | Just saw something that made me wonder. But if any official was found guilty of throwing games.. what could/would clubs do in this situation.. Could they ask for games to be replayed?

The Coote ref on 17:12 - Nov 20 with 1294 views | Zx1988 | How has it been handled in other countries? I can't think of any (recent) examples in the UK, and I have a feeling that the foreign incidents have come to light well after the season(s) in question have ended. I would imagine that, if it was discovered during the same season, the results would most likely be annulled rather than replayed. If it turned out to be historic cheating (I don't know... let's say the Ref/VAR in the Leicester game was proven to be corrupt, and we get relegated by a single point, but it only comes to light in 2028...) that could probably get tricky, maybe along the lines of the fallout from the Mascherano/Tevez affair. Clubs would make legal claims, but it would need to be established how much liability (if any) could be borne by the authorities. Otherwise they'd be left having to make a direct claim against the official in question for the alleged loss of income etc.,

The Coote ref on 18:46 - Nov 20 with 1049 views | Durovigutum | Law 5 says the game ends when the final whistle goes and that is the result. I think that’s for the best, even in the unlikely event of something nefarious happening. City should be relegated three divisions but given Man U the title in 2017 doesn’t make sense to me.

I don't like annulment. My non league club was a victim. A club went bust and fixtures were annulled. We went from promotion to a play off place as our results against the bust club were better than the club that took our place. Lost on pens in play off final.
