Web design 18:10 - Nov 20 with 924 views | _clive_baker_ | Asking for a friend, does anyone have any recommendations as to web design solutions? I'm a bit out of the loop, is it best to use an expert or can one create a professional looking site themselves (with selling / shopify capabilities) themselves? Thanks y'all

Thanks for the mention, but unfortunately I can’t help on that front… I’m not a web designer. My expertise is in branding and graphic design for print - brand identity, brochures, marketing materials etc

I used Wordpress then just found someone cheap to host. And if you just want a one pager for a business presence on the web then google lets you create one for free and have it hosted for free. By that I mean google provides a basic template. Bit like setting up a Facebook page. Very simple. Text, photos, phone number. Job done. Or it did a couple of years back. But if you want fancy stuff you might want to pay someone. [Post edited 21 Nov 2024 10:01]

Sqaurespace is very easy to design / lay stuff out, but far less flexible and has seo drawbacks Wix was poo, last time I checked Shopify is great for e-com stuff All told, it's a bit like an old school letterhead - anyone can knock a passable one up in Word, but whether it's any good is another thing.
