A few years ago the board was divided over Counago v Kuqi to partner Darren Bent as our two up top.
Liam Delap seems to me to combine the best attributes of Kuqi (strength and determination), Counago (skill and confidence) and Darren Bent (pace and finishing) all in one Centre Forward.
And he's got a bit of Alan Shearer's love of mixing it with and winding up big defenders, too.
I said it a few weeks ago, but I see him as the closest player to Dalian Atkinson's all round forward play that we have had since.
The other player I would compare him with would be Stan Collymore, who was a very special player at his best.
I'm putting him in exalted company, aged 21, after a number of Premier League games that only someone from Norfolk could count on two hands. |  | | |

He was amazing, only downside was his composure, as McKenna said during the interview, he has lots of improving to do namely Onana should not have been given the chance for it to of hit his arm and the little drag back flick looked pretty but in hind site a clear tap into the near post side like rashford done is all it needed. Sometimes his overconfidence is his downfal but when it comes off, wow what a player. | | | |

Agree with his first chance, but with the second, the ball was behind him so he didn't have the angle to sidefoot it home (and had he taken an extra touch, he would have been tackled). |

A real shame that he didn't put that away, not just to win the game but for one of the League 1 stalwarts. Would also have given Clarke a much-needed confidence boost as well.
I still think Delap's first chance was slightly easier though. Centre of the goal, about 8 yards out with only the keeper to beat. Just needed to sidefoot it home, Jimmy Greaves style.
