How can they look at that and decide it’s fine.

Wilson about to head in from two yards out when the defender, not even looking at the cross in, puts his arms around Wilson and jumps on top of him and bundles him to the floor and stops him getting the header without even attempting to play the ball.

Utterly ridiculous.

Agreed, said exactly the same at the time, it’s almost as if var only wants to get involved in less obvious decisions, the bigger more obvious (to you & me) are left to the ref.

There's subjectivity in the ref's on field decision, subjectivity in the VAR's decision, and then subjectivity in whether the error is sufficient that VAR should intervene.

They keep moving the thresholds to find the balance, but it's just become a hot mess of completely inconsistent rulings week to week.

Yep.

And the irony is, its the big decisions that the ref misses that VAR was brought in to eradicate.
PGMOL at the moment isn't fit for purpose.

All of which make it increasingly easy to suspect bias and corruption within Football, there most probably isn't, but the PGMOL are not doing themselves any favours by being so consistently inconsistent over basic easy decisions.

For heavens sake it's blindingly obvious it should just be an appeal system to the standing ref.... appeal, he looks again, changes/keeps his decision, appeal retained/ lost.... one per half so use it wisely!
