Broady, Chaplin, Johnson and Szmodics on the bench while J Clarke and Burns start? That must not happen ever again. Has Burns gone past a defender all season? Refuses to take his man on or put in a first time cross. J Clarke gives the ball away far too easily. He had some decent moments in non threatening areas. Need more than that.
Extremely worrying how far of a gap there is between us and Palace. They were quicker to press and stronger and more aggressive all night.

Muric has looked more solid of late but still worries me; that chance in second half which he saved was only because he hesitated too long in the first instance. Doesn’t seem mentally sharp.
See first point: bringing on an unfit AAH to replace Delap makes zero sense; get SS on ffs.
On the bright side, about a three minute walk from my seat to my hotel room. Maybe it’ll be better Sunday. Can’t be much worse.

Palace stifled us very well. We had no answer to break them down. We were ponderous all night long. Omari got loose a couple times late on but it all felt a bit rushed and not convincing.

I bloody hope so. It needs to be. The one positive is that we have two rest days over Bournemouth who play Thursday. If they look sharper on 60 plus minutes than us on Sunday, then that would be a huge concern. |  |
