The current system isn't cutting it. It's leaving us too open. At least this way O'Shea and Greaves can cover the full backs whilst a central midfielder - Phillips in this case - can drop back to help the defence. |  |

Have been thinking the same in games when we want to see out the game or, like the next two games, when we will be under a lot of pressure. I might have put Hutchinson instead of Szmodics in order to keep the ball a bit longer for the rest of the team to come up when we counter attack, but Szmodics would perhaps be a better finisher when/if a chance occurs. |  |

No real shocks? Muric deserves to be dropped, Morsy is unavailable and Johnson should be better than Clarke if fit. Only toss up is Szmodics or Chaplin. | |

My only thought is O'Shea has a touch more pace than Woolfenden to help cover Johnson, and likewise Greaves with Davis. As, with this formation, we'd be relying on the wing backs to get forward to support the attack. [Post edited 22 Dec 2024 13:25]
