Walton's save of the month nomination 14:23 - Jan 2 with 1783 viewstonybied

Am I alone in thinking it wasn't "that" special? I think it was a good save but it wasn't great. It wasnt an especially well placed shot, it did have a bit of power and swerve but it was close to Walton and not heading for a corner. It must've been a poor month for goalkeepers for that to be nominated in my opinion.

Perhaps Dave Beasant could present his Dave of the month award or Dave's save?

Dog Daves save of the month.

This thread didn't really take the direction I was expecting!

The camera angles they've picked didn't do it justice. There's one other angle that highlights it in a more impressive light.

I thought it was a great save though I suspect Muric would have caught it in his teeth.

Guess the context helps. 1-0 up, from Palmer, first home win etc. Muric has made better this season though.

Agree with others though, still a very good save.

I agree that it was a very good save but my point is the shot was from 20 yards or so and not what I'd call a pile-driver, it was heading high into the goal but central and Walton was also positioned pretty central too. Honestly, If we conceded that I would've been disappointed with Walton.

I'd expect save of the month nominations to be a similar shot but heading for a corner, one-on-one or point-blank reaction saves. Maybe it was just a poor month for saves!

Commentators use “what a save!” so much, but I look at it in reverse - if Walton had let that in, he’d have been very disappointed considering it’s nowhere near the corner.

No chance of winning the award sadly, up against that Martinez one that got headlines.

Poll: So, how many league wins did you see in person?
