If we're talking to players we spoke to in the summer

Who was that really out there signing we didn't pull off?

If only someone had pulled him off. Keno?

Interesting. He's got over 40 Premier League goals. Not sure how many players we've ever had who could say that. Especially when they first signed for us, and especially whilst still in their 20s.

He played the majority of Premier League games for 8 consecutive seasons. Played European football in 4 different seasons. And he's already played half as many professional matches as John Wark!

That ain't bad going in terms of experience for someone who's still only 28 in this day and age.

He's not caught fire in his short spell at his present club (Sevilla- don't think he's scored a single goal in La Liga) but that seems to be one market we've been happily shopping in (Philogene, KPhillips).

I'd say Kiefer Moore was genuinely quite a coup for a championship club. More so than signing Iheancho would be now

Not sure about that, we were fighting with Cardiff for his signing at the time and despite him doing well for us we didn't attempt to sign permanently, and neither did any other Premier League team. He went on to sign for another team expected to be fighting for Playoffs/Autos this season.

I'd say he was signed as a player of pretty much-expected quality rather than a stand-out signing.

Maybe you're right, but in the very quiet window that it was at the top of the Championship, it was still a stand out signing, because it left us considerably stronger

Which would be the same for us signing Iheanacho, would it not?
