Villa officially sign Malen (Philogene replacement) (n/t) on 19:35 - Jan 14 by Chris_ITFC | If even the manager of Aston Villa can't evidence that you were wrong, I'll leave you to argue with yourself. The deals are clearly linked. Quite basic. |
Villa didn't have to sign Malen for us to sign Philogene, Emery is saying the reverse of that. If you want to shift the goalposts to pretend you weren’t wrong then fine I don’t care.

Villa agree fee for Malen (Philogene replacement) (n/t) on 13:44 - Jan 13 by bluesbrothers | Quite funny how you're using the phrase "pretty basic" to patronise when you're wrong. It may well be that the deal does get completed in a time frame that looks like they're connected, but this other transfer is not the reason for the ongoing delay |
That's not what is being suggested. Emery said they were delaying Malen coming in until Philogene was completed, and now he has completed despite that. We were their delay, not them being our delay. If we take what he said at face value you'd expect a transfer for Philogene (to us or elsewhere) to be wrapped up soon. So you are right their transfer is not the cause of the ongoing delay, but that misses the point.
