9 1/2 year contract! 09:03 - Jan 17 with 996 viewstonybied

Haaland signed a new deal for 9 1/2 years. Can you imagine what the fee is going to have to be to sign him when he goes!

Obviously no fear of any action against them, if they are handing out contracts like that.

That's incredible.

In the immediate future at least, that shows he is staying around at City - the cynic in me thought he'd move on to the next country to conquer.

Ignoring the politics about the money in the game etc - he is an incredible goal-scorer, and every record this country has seen can be smashed out of sight if he sees that contract out.

I think it's that they can only be amortised over 5 years rather than the contract length being restricted. As there's no transfer fee involved here the amortisation isn't really an issue - unless he has a huge resigning bonus.

The fee paid cannot be spread over more than 5 years.

The contract can be as long as they want it to be as long as both parties agree.

It will have a ridiculous release fee attached im sure

I think that's just when you sign a player from another club, I believe you can sign a player for as long as you like but only 5 years are counted for amortization purposes.

That's disgusting, he'll be 33 there is no way he will complete that final half year of that contract.
