As far as I know, none of our members left until after the final whistle. If our banner is displayed, that means the group is present. There were a few lulls no doubt, but we still sang for the full 90 minutes, as we do every game. I don’t know where you sit, but our noise clearly spread to the north stand as I could see some of them joining in with us in the second half. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I think that’s your biggest problem TBH, there were occasions yesterday where there were 3 different songs going, one from you, and two others from the North, and even if the whole North joins in it’s at different speeds. From my seat directly opposite you, while we can hear you it’s not especially loud, and often drowned out when there’s a competing chant from the North stand. Not sure how you counter that, and I’m not being critical, just offering feedback.

Any TIFO plans for Southampton game? McKenna message.. on 12:53 - Jan 20 with 2584 views | unstableblue |
Appreciate the efforts of Blue Action Imagine you were somewhat demoralised by the reaction to Liverpool TIFO (which was excellent, but the impact effected by the North lower tier) - are you planning anything for the Saints game? It will be a hugely important game, and I think there’s a risk of nerves in the stand crossing to the pitch. Something from the start to build the occasion would help. Also surely McKenna deserves a banner or a large TIFO or some gesture? To show the support further that did manifest at the end of the City game. Before we know it, he will be gone. Not suggesting this is all Blue Action’s responsibility. And to be honest not just Blue Action but our fans have not quite risen to the Premier League challenge in my view - they have have away from home - but if you compare to the incredible support and TIFOs seen at the City Ground in their first survival season. These were crucial.

Constantly driving any atmosphere that exists at PR isn’t entirely accurate. Totally admire what you guys do but IMHO sitting at the other end of the ground, the atmosphere at PR has become significantly worse since your move to Block A. It may seem like a lot of noise where you are but as another poster has mentioned, there’s often 2-3 chants on the go at one time from different parts of the north stand so no chant ever sounds loud. Not meant as a criticism but just an observation.

Sir Alf Upper, literally the opposite top corner. Heard you pretty much throughout, and that's with one ear half blocked and the other listening to the mancs mumble through their party pieces. If you cannot hear it then blame the stadiums recognised poor acoustics, not them. Pick up the drummers rhythm and you'll then hear the vocals if it helps. Keep it up, great group!

What I mean is that while you get mostly sporadic chanting from the North Stand, we continuously sing for the whole game, so we’re keeping a constant noise throughout the game regardless of what’s happening. I just skimmed through a vlog from a fella that stands in S6 of the NS. Every chant that he and others around him sing are ones that are started from A-Block, so we can be heard up until the aisle of S5 at least, and then imo it’s up to the rest of the NS to carry those songs on. They just usually don’t, hence the worsened atmosphere now. We had to move when we did as it had become so unenjoyable with the pushback and minimal participation from those around us. If we’d not, I’m pretty sure we’d have given up and disbanded by now. Tbh aswell, we’re kind of over worrying about what the overall stadium atmosphere sounds like now - we can only do what we can do as 40 odd lads - the rest is up to everyone else. But what we have done is created an area with a real buzz about it, where any likeminded fan that does want to stand and sing for 90 minutes of every game can do. Thats a good thing regardless of everything else.

I think what you do is incredible, you're just hamstrung by your positioning, but that might be down to where I sit which is completely the other end near the tunnel up high.

Yeh, the acoustics don't help but this is secondary to the main problem that not enough Town fans want to sing all through games. It's Ipswich Town and has always been thus. Sure, we make a terrific din when the game is a cracker and the team's sails are full, but we've not been a rocking stadium every game come thick or thin since the North and South rebuilds (back to the problem of acoustics). Fair play to Blue Order and not sure they deserve criticism for everyone else not joining in. They aren't wizards ffs.

We wanted to move behind the goal in NSL. The survey we done a few years back concluded that that was where best for us to be located however those already in that area kicked off & wouldn’t move (which is fair enough, that’s where they’ve bought their ST), hence the move to A Block.

Yep, that second tier really killed it, that noise Bolton at home in the PO's was something to behold, just sounds a bit disjointed now, add in the appetite from NS seems to be waning. Hope BA don't get too despondent.

Nothings planned for Southampton tbh, but if there was it would be in our section anyway. There won’t be anything from us in the NS for the rest of this season at least. The club won’t allow it after all the complaints they got after that game anyway. A shame but. Just an aside, all of Forza Garibaldi’s displays are printed by an outside agency - no physical work by their own members goes into any of them. That may not mean anything to the average fan who just enjoys the visual aspect of it, but to those involved in the scene it makes them worthless. You either spend the time and effort making them yourself, or you don’t bother at all.

Full respect for what you do and that's the right attitude to take - you can't be responsible for the surrounding 26K of us! Have you found scarcity of tickets to be an issue this season? I can imagine non-singers buying seats in that area due to desperation for any ticket in the ground, as well as passionate non-ST holders routinely missing out. I'd love for there to be a way to unite the singing sections again but no doubt it would cause too much angst. I can see small pockets in North Lower routinely giving it a good go but there are clearly more non-singers than singers in there, judging from my view in the West Stand. Occasionally the Nathan Broadhead song will show what's possible from that stand, as well as celebration games over the past two years, so while acoustics are far from ideal, that point appears to be overstated.

That’s fair enough, just a shame the club couldn’t do more to accommodate you in a better area of the ground. Unless we end up back in league one I guess that is unlikely to change too given the attendances. Each to their own but it is odd why so many choose to go in NSL then not participate in the noise.

Yeah, the view from the NSL is awful so if you’re not in there making a racket it’s a pretty grim place to watch the game from.
