Arr you for real? It wasnt bad bookeeping... It was purposely disguising a payment to a porn actress with the intention or expectation of electoral benefit. |
the charge related to book keeping. the payment was not illegal - but recording it as a business expense rather than a political expense was the issue. given what the public know about trump, not declaring $100,000 of campaign costs seems to most people to be utterly trivial. even paying off a porn actress doesn't surprise his supporters. pursuing that charge resurrected him politically when he was as good as finished. and it was done for revenge rather than because of the seriousness of the charge.
the jan 6th charges were both very serious and very damaging for trump - but by the time we got to them most of the electorate had decided trump was now the victim.
