Is there any way to get Hirst and Delap in the same side? 16:16 - Feb 9 with 3747 viewsjasondozzell

I'm almost certain that KM won't do this because 1. He prefers one striker with three 10s behind mostly and 2. He'll feel we need to be able to have a replacement for Delap on the bench.

But that RW profile that KM talks about in terms of Wes and Ogbene as straight runners. Delap could obviously do that.

Thoughts?

We only have two natural 9s so there isn't, no.

I'd love to see it... but who replaces them?

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Different attacking formations for each half ? Start with Delap and Hutchison plus two, second half Hirst and Jack Clarke plus two. Although with Chaplin and Szmodics injured we are down to Broadhead and Philogene as our plus two.

I've often thought that it was that RW role that Delap was brought in to do - to give Burns competition and probably ultimately displace him in the team. Obviously things have worked out differently, but if Hirst was available at the beginning of the season he may well have played there!

Delap was purchased as a centre-forward – if I see one more person try to make a right winger of him I swear I'll do time!

Heskey and Owen

Ferdinand and Shearer.

If Keegan had any bottle at all he’d have won a title with those two up top.

What has happened to strikers?

In the mid to late 90's we had Shearer, Fowler, Cole, Ferdinand, Sheringham, Owen, Collymore, Wright. Could only get a few of them in an England squad.
