Trumpworld = no limits providing there’s a dollar to be made. Nothing else matters to him.
With regards to Putin it’s easy to see why they are best buddies. Both simple, both clear on what they want, both have no boundaries to telling lies and neither have any scruples whatsoever in how they get what they want. People? They don’t matter. Right and wrong? That’s for the weak. Understanding, big picture, consequences? As long as it’s money for Trump and land/destiny/empire for Putin to hell with everything else. It’s why they surround themselves with the people they do.
If it made a dollar for him, Trump would happily support Putin in his war of conquest and he might well do so. Why not? Let’s face it with his attempt at selling Ukraine down the river on his ‘rare earth’ deal he’s already doing it. He and the US are possibly going to syphon $billions from the Ukraine economy and those poor people for what? Nothing.
If European troops stand in Vlad’s way when he comes calling, not the US’ problem. Why? Because the deal is with Russia. It must have already been done otherwise Putin would have complained about the proposed shakedown on what they already consider theirs.
Starmer has an unenviable job today. I actually cannot see what he’s going to get out of it. Not humiliated and completely ignored is probably the best outcome. Starmer talks about balanced trade (it is), but Trump doesn’t care about that. A load of lies will sort that out because the object is to screw what he can off anybody he can. It’s his idea of a deal. Anything he says is best ignored, don’t get into a public fight and quietly orientate this country to where it belongs. Europe.
The U.K. also has partners and interests around the world and other countries will see what America now is which represents opportunities as well as threats. |  | | |

Trump is beyond satire at this point, there’s over $100bn of lost or trapped western assets in Russia, you know he’ll let Vlad keep it all, whilst returning to Russia the $300bn of frozen Russian assets in the West (probably with an apology and interest). I don't think it will go as far as Government positions, but Trump will absolutely do some kind of PR opportunity with them and paint them as the victim.

The new Gold Card proposal is hilarious. Trump is happy for Satan himself to roll in as long as the US gets $5m a tyrant. Haven’t we just seen the consequences of that following Russian invasion and Oligarchs here and in other countries?
