Anyone got any hot tips for Achilles Insertional Tendonitis? 20:11 - Apr 18 with 1119 views | NthQldITFC | Treatment tips, that is, not tips on how to get it! It's the attachment of the Achilles tendon to the heel bone, and it's been getting sorer for a few weeks. I do a lot of cycling and I'm fit and strong, but I played tennis with someone half my age last week and I think that's triggered a flare up. Ice is nice, but is anything nicerer?

Anyone got any hot tips for Achilles Insertional Tendonitis? on 20:20 - Apr 18 with 1086 views | marvellous | From experience the only advice I can give is ice, rest and don't rest your Achilles on a hard surface (i.e. don't rest your feet on the coffee table). It's very sore, especially walking downstairs in the morning, but you'll be OK after a week or so. I found ankle supports helped for a few weeks when you feel like getting back on it.
Anyone got any hot tips for Achilles Insertional Tendonitis? on 20:31 - Apr 18 with 1046 views | itfc_bucks | Ultrasound therapy worked for me. I say "worked", but it's a case of pain management rather than cure. I run ultramarathons - at those distances, if everything doesn't hurt by the end, you've really not tried hard enough! I gather long distance cycling is much the same, but with a bike seat wedged up your bum, for added enjoyment...?
Anyone got any hot tips for Achilles Insertional Tendonitis? on 21:03 - Apr 18 with 1021 views | ADStephenson | I used to run a lot to a decent level and suffered from Achilles Tendonitis for five years, ruining my competitive ambitions. I had lots of different physio on it, but in the end, the thing that fixed it (with improvements literally overnight) was to get custom insoles from a podiatrist because I had developed fallen arches. Wore them in all my shoes for about a year and then just in runners for another year and don't wear them at all now but haven't had a problem since. Might not help for you, but worth looking into.

Anyone got any hot tips for Achilles Insertional Tendonitis? on 21:05 - Apr 18 with 1010 views | redrickstuhaart | The advice is lots of heel lift type exercises. But get proper advice and dont stretch it in the usual way. That just compresses the achilles against the heel bone.

That's making a lot of sense from a logical perspective, and from how it feels. Coming downstairs sideways on to avoid the opposite action seems to help a lot too. Thanks all. Gonna try a drop of whisky now. For completeness, you understand.

I'm 64 but now feel as though I'm 44. In her treatment saloon there is complimentary Vol-Au-Vents, and sparkling water. Her clients include Judi Dench, Melvyn Hayes, William Roache and Teddy Sheringham.

Don’t ask us- I’d strongly advise getting professional opinion that includes a scan. You really don’t want to be in a boot in summer - I know! Good luck.

Melvyn Hayes probably got his from fussing around the tables too much in the Brantham Bull. Vols-au-vent give me wind, but that might be autodigestion. William Roach, I tentatively had down as that Ted Bovis-like character from The Bill, but I did expect to find that I was in error when I looked it up - sure enough, I was, but then again you never can trust Wikipedia, or Judi Dench for that matter. Sheringham? Well, I got sand under my foreskin there once, so I'd really rather you didn't bring that up again.

I am a physio who specialises in Achilles injuries. This is the info we have online, in the articles are links to YouTube videos. If you need we are an online virtual service via zoom so if you look through the website there are appointment options too. https://www.treatmyachilles.com/search?q=Insertional Thanks COYB

Anyone got any hot tips for Achilles Insertional Tendonitis? on 15:43 - Apr 19 with 606 views | Westcountryblue | Diet. I used to have horrible achilles tendonitis, but amazingly it all cleared up. Read about Novak Djokovic's anti inflammatory diet...cutting out gluten, dairy, coffee, beer (all the good stuff unfortunately), but my god, it's worked wonders. Body feels as good as ever, years of achilles problem gone ! Doing several 10km plus runs a week with ease. Went down the route of physio etc, it's terribly hit and miss and expensive. Reducing inflammation in your body is the key to healing. [Post edited 19 Apr 15:44]

After a day of frozen pea application and coming down the stairs like I've got crabs... no that's not right... coming down the stairs like a crab, I'm feeling a remarkable improvement already. Can't be doing with Novak Djokovic's diet, and not just because he's a knob! But thanks all for the excellent tips on here.
