Anyone else struggle with persistent coughing? 20:09 - Apr 22 with 1235 views | Swansea_Blue | It’s killing me at the moment, not helped by my Miner’s Lung which has plagued me since I served the country down the pits, putting everyone’s needs above my health. I had an attack in ASDA today just as I was picking out a nice steak. You never know when it’ll hit and when it could mark your last moments on Earth. Some miserable sod was tutting and huffing away, as if the meat is all out in the open and that was all that was important to him. What a wazzock. And did he offer to help? Did he heck. Some people heh? At least his missus looked less than pleased with him, which made me chuckle.

Anyone else struggle with persistent coughing? on 07:44 - Apr 23 with 853 views | cymroglas | Sorry to hear about this. Must be painful and difficult when it happens in a public place. I guess you have already consulted your GP a long time ago. Best wishes from north Wales.
Anyone else struggle with persistent coughing? on 08:17 - Apr 23 with 835 views | BlueBadger | Pretty much since I had (what I now assume to be)covid in Late March 2020. I have a persistent, mild and irritating dry cough that won't go and only gets worse if I pick up ANYTHING germ-wise. Let me tell you, a dose of the sh*ts coupled to a persistent dry cough is quite the 'Russian Roulette' experience. [Post edited 23 Apr 8:17]

Anyone else struggle with persistent coughing? on 08:44 - Apr 23 with 802 views | Portwoman | My sympathies. I have endured a cough for over 40 years. Have had all the lung tests (nothing wrong with them, as expected, as I'm a good swimmer), etc and finally last year, after a visit to Chest Physiotherapy it was diagnosed as sensitive airways, aka Cough Hypersensitivity. It is triggered by things like cigarette smoke, scented candles, etc, but also random changes of temperature/atmosphere. I have been advised cough suppression techniques as well as chewing gum and sipping water. It is now less bad. Sadly, there appears to be no cure and GP's appear to know nothing to little about it. This is perhaps insightful but not much help to you! Fortunately, my friends and fellow ST holders near me are understanding.
Anyone else struggle with persistent coughing? on 08:50 - Apr 23 with 794 views | BloomBlue | Nothing wrong with a good old cough or sneezing especially over meat. When I was a kid the butchers had the meat hanging from the ceiling, flies, people coughing & sneezing over it, and we never suffered with the silly things the kids suffer with now. You should have told the old sod, while you're lifetime down the mine, spending all that time with dust, candle fumes and canaries has caused your cough, it would ultimately be better for the meat/his health.

Anyone else struggle with persistent coughing? on 17:08 - Apr 23 with 660 views | Swansea_Blue | Sorry to anyone who took this seriously - it was a traditional TWTD response to this: Coughing these days by TresBonne 22 Apr 17:03I am convinced nobody covers their mouth when coughing nowadays. Every time I go out it seems to happen.
Some bloke started coughing all over the meat aisle in ASDA today hence for this rant ffs! I know it's all sealed, but still!!!
Tried to talk to my mrs about it and she said I get wound up too easily, so this was my second best place to rant. I’m happy to report I’m well

Sounds terrible. I was messing around, but obviously for anyone who does struggle it’s not a laughing matter. I’d never heard of Cough Hypersensitivity and it sounds somewhat counterintuitive if you can have it with a good pair of lungs. That must be a right pain (I fully understand a need to steer clear of scented candles though - horrible things!).

Th problem with this place nowadays is that it's not a loose narrative of stories but an ongoing bloody soap opera.
