Worst refs in the Premier League 07:19 - Apr 27 with 3379 viewssohamblue74

It's a lengthy list. Who am I missing?

Robinson (ref Leicester)
Salisbury (ref Newcastle)
Oliver - consistently terrible
Attwell - consistently terrible
Harrington (ref Brighton)
Jones (ref Aston Villa).

With honourable mentions for
Clive Thomas (ref West Ham, FA cup)
Keith Hackett (ref Norwich, Milk cup).

Stephen Warnock and Sue Smith were both 100% adamant it was a nailed on penalty and astounded that Gallagher could even attempt to justify the non-award. I reckon 99% of neutral fans would say it was a definite penalty. Gallagher was clearly trying to back up VAR but couldn't explain it in a way that satisfied Warnock at all.

But it was one incident that has been and gone now. In many respects it's probably good we didn't go down due to a small margin so we can't see that as the determining factor.

Warnock and Smith were incredulous. I do find it hard to understand how anyone can view that incident and come away think it's doubtful and that Chappers should have been stronger, but there we go. You're right though, it hasn't determined our fate ultimately, although if we few decisions had gone our way and we'd picked up some more points, especially at home, early in the season then maybe we'd have got a bit closer but still think it would have ended largely the same way.

Your second paragraph, I couldn't disagree more. I maintain that is an absolutely wild take.

It's far too subjective a debate for saying there's an element of doubt to be a wild take.

The incident where you say it is subjective whether Chaplin goes down too easily is at 1.47 on here: https://www.skysports.com/football/video/19530/13246939/ipswich-town-1-1-leicest

Leicester fans (hardly neutral) reaction are in the comments here: https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/conor-chaplin-gi

It is not extreme to call your response a ridiculously wild take.

A 'ridiculously' wild take now?

A take where I've said there's an element of doubt over a decision to award a penalty or not ? A take which is almost by definition backed up by the fact the referee didn't give it in real time and neither did the video ref on review?

Not sure what the LCFC comments are proving by the way.

I'd say calling it a ridiculously wild take is fair. No matter how many times I watch it, I just can't see any doubt at all about whether it's a foul.

Conversely the ref we had for Man U home was very good - let the game flow and no cards
