Mad amount of empty seats in the City end on 20:54 - Apr 27 with 538 views | RIPbobby | I hope it is because of the pricing. I bet it costs a bloody fortune to go there. It would be nice to see some teams deliberately not go and watch it on the tv. That would be a big kick in the teeth to the people who run the show.

Yes, a huge cost for fans and bad for the environment too for all those people to travel the length of the country when the match could have been help up north. Wembley should be special. It should only be for finals and England internationals.

I'd be all for England Internationals being across the country as they were when Wembley was being rebuilt, and as many other countries do e.g France, Italy, Spain, Germany. [Post edited 27 Apr 21:29]

Mad amount of empty seats in the City end on 17:57 - Apr 27 by Chrisd | How long are the FA going to keep hiding behind the excuse the semi finals are played at Wembley to help with the repayment of the new stadium, surely they must have recouped their money by now? It really takes the gloss off the final for me. Much preferred it when the semi finals were at Villa Park, Old Trafford etc… it’s all a bit crap now. |
The debt has been repaid so there is no real justification for having the FA Cup semi finals at Wembley, apart from the greed of the FA.

By being at Wembley, each club gets a much bigger allocation than if it was at Villa Park. Yes, there were empty seats today but that’s more down to kickoff time.

The FA's greed also means that the tea-time kick offs will continue as Sky or whoever gets bigger TV audiences at that time. Rugby has gone down the same route, with mates of mine having given up attending Twickenham internationals. However, it won't change as long as football or rugby can sell the seats to football tourists. The same thing applies to the FA Cup, with umpteen ties in the 3rd round being moved from Saturday 3pm kick offs for "overseas TV purposes", in addition to the 5 or 6 games being moved for live UK TV purposes.

Northern club, they're there probably every year, twice some years. I'm guessing cost is an issue too. I think it just proves their fan base can't be that big. |
My neighbour went with his 3 sons, none of them support either City or Forest, but his company had some corporate tickets and nobody wanted them. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

My Forest supporting mate was offered Club Wembley tickets for £250 a head, which include food & drinks. That's why that section - opposite the TV cameras - is half empty for much of the second half. He thought it was too much & turned it down, thought the Forest end comfortably sold out.

Long way to Exeter for both of them.
