There used to be this dad running one of the cub teams we used to play who took it all far too seriously. He once flagged me offside in my own half of the field and when my dad, a spectator, pointed this out to him called over the referee - one of my dad's friends - telling him to book him. This the referee did while clearly not taking it seriously.
After the game, which I imagine we won, we returned to our cub hut to find all the chairs in the room had been piled up on top of one another in the middle of the room. No guns fortunately. |  | | |

Off-topic - but I do wonder how many really good young refs simply give up due to the abuse they suffer reffing kids matches. Maybe the best refs don’t make it to professional levels but instead it’s the ones with thick skins that do. |  | | |
