Roy Keane's big men comment. 09:43 - May 11 with 905 views | cbower | If I remember rightly, Keane said something about needing big men with big arms didn't he? Was he right after all? There has been much debate around our lack of Premier League experience but for me, our lack of Premier League physicality and athleticism, especially in the midfield and the three behind the striker has been our biggest problem. I was certainly no fan of Keane as our manager, but he was right about physical / athletic specimens it seems.

Roy Keane's big men comment. on 09:48 - May 11 with 848 views | textbackup | It’s been men against boys much of the season hasn’t it. PL level players are just a different breed. Huge back shoulders thighs, with insane cardio levels.

Roy Keane's big men comment. on 10:05 - May 11 with 769 views | EdwardStone | But it is not just the size of these Prem Superhunks They are remarkably nimble, blessed with a good turn of speed and this super=human ability to read the game so they are perfectly positioned for an interception or to collect a loose ball Coupled with this ability to play one-touch football, trap and pass in one flowing motion rather than the 3 or more touches some of our guys need Tbh, it has been a joy to watch some of the football played this season by these wonderful specimens, only slightly spoiled by us being not quite good enough to match them

Think the truth is our team as a collective hasn't been good enough especially the drop off in standard from our starting XI to the wider squad, middle of the park has consistently been a problem. But watching the Champions League semi finals both Barcalona and PSG have teams that are not physically imposing but just filled with fantastic footballers. So a team of athletic beasts isn't the only solution.
Roy Keane's big men comment. on 10:12 - May 11 with 735 views | ArnieM | No, Town don't need big men with big arms to play in the Plastic League. The game of Football is played with the FEET! What has been allowed to develop over recent years by the game itself, is this complete shytehousery of throwing your opposition to the floor or grappling with them so they can even stand up in the box, which fir dome reason is " ok" in the box at dead ball situations, yet brush passed a player in open play is deemed a foul and sees your opponent crash to the floor polaxed, holding his face rolling around in agony and a supposed foul. In old fashioned terms that known as CHEATING

Yes, I forgot to add that you also need experience of WWF for the grappling at corners and a spell at Rada for the level of dramatic interpretation improv when even lightly tackled Multi talented, these SuperHunks....innit

You may be correct about football being played by feet but for as long as I remember (I'm 66) use of the arms to block, hold back, distract, delay has been used. I remember playing years ago against a former League of Ireland professional ( semi professional, in those days ) and couldent believe the constant manhandling he got away with. Any time we were within arms length, his hands were on me. It was actually an art form because the ref saw nothing. The arm use came into professional football when the kick to the chest started to get frowned on [Post edited 11 May 12:52]
