He absolutely gets exposed as bigoted, historically illiterate, narcissistic and especially arrogant here. Braying over Maitlis, patronising her and all sorts, all because she asks him what he believes.
From 27mins or so he really loses his composure and shows what sort of man he is.
Banging on about Thatcher and what the Tory party isn't and should be and could be. Its all just building up to some reform MPs joining them and Toies trying to fool people again in 3-4 years. Get a room already reform and Tories.

My good old mate Ernie disagrees but can’t say why I see!
What I found really funny is he claims the best period for Britain was his childhood(classic nostalgia bias) and when the country was utterly broke and under Attlee!
I’d love to hear from anyone who listens to that and thinks that Lowe is a moral, competent, honest man with decent intentions.

He was born in 1957, so most of his childhood was in the 1960's. Those were good times compared with what was to follow.

Certainly, and his blaming of Labour and praise of Thatcher makes himn even more lacking in credibility doesn't it? He's completely historically illiterate it seems.

Most of the MAGA/Reform crowd reference the post-war years when indeed things seemed to be getting better for the majority of people until the political consensus was ruptured in the late 1970's. In their view Reagan and Thatcher gave us hope, and all the leaders since have betrayed that hope. The reality of course is that since those times inequality has widened and opportunity decreased which is a direct result of liberal economics, as had become well known in Edwardian times.
I fear that much will depend on how this plays out in the US where some confidently boast that they are on their way back to the pre-woke, and of course pre civil rights era of the 1950's.
