Not quite sure a pledge from 100k people will do. I guess it’s grassroots activism hoping to get them to join anti fascist matches etc before the next election.

The Never Nigel campaign on 09:06 - May 20 by VanSaParody | Perfect response to OP We are all free to make up our own minds on the issues that affect us locally & nationally in a free & fair democratic society, hard fought & won for us in two World wars We don't want a political party blocked or banned from running because that truly is the definition of fascism/naziism |
"...free and fair democratic society...". Which country is this?

The Never Nigel campaign on 18:10 - May 20 by Mullet | But again, you’re just repeating yourself without justifying what is missing from the article you linked, where he says sorry and understands his mistake. No one disagrees we had some very hopped up racists doling out violence, but he not only seems to own his mistake but no one did take that action unlike the far right. I’m at a loss as to why you’re vilifying him specifically with evidence we can’t read beyond showing he’s seemingly done the right thing. Equating him with fascist mouth pieces who actually did cause violence and threat to life seems really weird. Hence the question. |
I don't equate him(Nick) with any right wing fascists, merely that he has publicly stated a non truth that at the time was potentially extremely dangerous. If any other person, Left of Centre or Right of Centre, I would castigate them for stating an untruth into public domain. I wish you well and as stated previously, I am sure Hope not Hate will have provided valuable insight into many campaigns.

But that’s what you’ve done by comparison here, it’s very strange. You’ve just said the same thing again, and not really elaborated on it. It’s very strange

Nothing strange, misinformation is never a good thing. For the last time I wish you well and look forward to seeing how the petition goes, it may well be very successful.

Hope Not Hate have campaigned against racism, the far right, Islamophobia, Islamic extremism, antisemitism and anti-LGBT+ hate. According to Wikipedia, prominent supporters of Hope not Hate have included businessman Alan Sugar, boxer Amir Khan, singer Beverley Knight, actress and screenwriter Meera Syal, TV presenter Fiona Phillips, MP [2015-19] and former anti-fascist organiser Ruth Smeeth, chef Simon Rimmer, songwriter Billy Bragg, entrepreneur Levi Roots, singer Speech Debelle, actress and singer Paloma Faith, presenter Dermot O'Leary, Baroness Glenys Kinnock, comedian Eddie Izzard, murdered MP Jo Cox,[84][85][86] and Swedish Tetra Pak heiress Sigrid Rausing. I saw Nick Lowles speak last year at a Billy Bragg concert in support of Hope Not Hate, and whilst his Tweet was very unfortunate, I don't think it devalues all the good thing they have done. The whole mock Rees Mogg thing is a tiresome mask to wear isn’t it? It doesn’t really disguise what you’ve tried to do here does it?

I have no idea re Rees Mogg thing. Appreciate you may be more interested in politics than myself. As per previous poster 'DJR' has indicated they felt it was an unfortunate tweet but felt it did not detract from the work, Hope not Hate have undertaken and I fully respect that opinion. I respect your opinion and would like to think you respect mine. Good Night

The Never Nigel campaign on 16:54 - May 20 by management | The main issue with Nicks tweet was misinformation during the period of unrest. Tensions were high and Nick implied by a tweet that a Muslim lady had been attacked with acid with no proof to substantiate this. Cleveland police stated there was no record of any such incident. The local community could have been upset with such an incident and sadly during this period people acted on misinformation. Sometime there are consequences to what people say, thankfully this did not occur but as per previous message, essential to check and recheck sources. |
Try holding the never ending stream of Reform lies and b/s to the same standard. Or be an apologist for the authoritarian far right....
