But again, you’re just repeating yourself without justifying what is missing from the article you linked, where he says sorry and understands his mistake.
No one disagrees we had some very hopped up racists doling out violence, but he not only seems to own his mistake but no one did take that action unlike the far right. I’m at a loss as to why you’re vilifying him specifically with evidence we can’t read beyond showing he’s seemingly done the right thing.
Equating him with fascist mouth pieces who actually did cause violence and threat to life seems really weird. Hence the question. |
I don't equate him(Nick) with any right wing fascists, merely that he has publicly stated a non truth that at the time was potentially extremely dangerous.
If any other person, Left of Centre or Right of Centre, I would castigate them for stating an untruth into public domain.

I have no idea re Rees Mogg thing. Appreciate you may be more interested in politics than myself.
As per previous poster 'DJR' has indicated they felt it was an unfortunate tweet but felt it did not detract from the work, Hope not Hate have undertaken and I fully respect that opinion.

The main issue with Nicks tweet was misinformation during the period of unrest. Tensions were high and Nick implied by a tweet that a Muslim lady had been attacked with acid with no proof to substantiate this. Cleveland police stated there was no record of any such incident.
The local community could have been upset with such an incident and sadly during this period people acted on misinformation.
Sometime there are consequences to what people say, thankfully this did not occur but as per previous message, essential to check and recheck sources. |
