Emails - do you read emails from the top or bottom? 12:56 - May 23 with 1822 viewsLord_Lucan

I think this says a lot about people.

I predict reading from the top is what lazy socialists do.

Correct, as per ISO 8601 standard.

Utter woke nonsense.

Sunday is first day of the week.

And sometimes an islamic thing as well.

It shows how god is a poor planner. Back then nothing was open on a Sunday, so why did he pick Sunday as the first day? If he’d have said “Let there be light” but the bulb had gone, he’d have knackered as B&Q wouldn’t have opened until the second day.

Makes you think doesn’t it?

Yes - and Sunday is the first day of the week.

You fecking Millennials are stoopid.

Sunday is, indeed the first day of the week. Has been for a couple of thousand years or so in Judeo-Christian calendar systems. The seventh and final day of the week is the sabbath, which is Saturday (albeit that Christians mostly worship on the day after, in commemoration of the resurrection).

I'll ask again, as everyone seems to have ignored the point, why is Sunday part of the weekend then?

It may well have been the start of the week for a couple of thousand years, but things change.

It's classed as the weekend as for work we traditionally have a 5 day week and Saturday and Sunday are considered to be days of rest at the end of the working week.

You've said it yourself then, "at the end of the working week".
Not the start! Case closed!

Finite length things have two ends. Which, if they are a repeating cycle, join together.

Up until recently I always took the start of the week as Sunday like Lucan. And your post explains why after all these years.

Not really sure what your point is guthers. The weekend is the weekend, just because another Monday comes around doesn't change that.
