MA said that the club was protected with this deal so how the release clause is actually executed might well offer the club protection - this could well be how and when payments are received or include further add-ons within the release clause.

Simple, whatever the loan fee is agreed at, that makes up part of the £30m they have to pay. Delap can still choose not to go there |  | | |
