US credibility 20:32 - May 31 with 1823 viewsNthQldITFC

I think that the EU, the UK, China, the Palestinians, Ukraine, Hamas even and hell, the rest of the world should just say to each and every US envoy or whatever they pretend to be, "Look, you have absolutely no credibility left, just piss off and let the adults decide what's going to happen."

Trump originally said he would end the war "on day 1".

Just another piece of evidence highlighting things he says and by extension the US, have no credibility.

Yep - not sure anyone’s in disagreement with that.

Just the assertion that Hamas and China are credible - which in fairness, Queensland subsequently said was in jest (should have known that tbf).

You do don't you, I mean as if you or the Israeli state would have any complaints about project Trump.

I know how much you love to feel morally superior but I have criticised Trump repeatedly.

You know this so your post is a deliberate lie.

Truly impaired.

That was more of an electoral sound bite than a promise. It was never remotely possible as everybody knew, as there is such a gulf between the 2 sides as to what are acceptable terms. Even a temporary ceasefire looks unreachable. Particularly when Putin knows that to continue with the war makes sense for him,
1 his war aims have not been fulfilled and have probably become more ambitious.
2 like most countries, his population will put up with hardships while it is on a war-footing; end the war and it might not be so pliable.
3 Putin is a natural war-monger, he harks back to war time USSR as glory times.

It seems to me it’s finally dawned on Trump (what we all knew) that Putin was stringing him along. I think he genuinely thought he’d end the war within a few weeks of coming to power. Clearly Putin doesn’t want peace, he wants to continue the war to maintain power in Russia (much like Netenyaho).

Trump having the attention span of a toddler has now lost interest and moved onto the next shiny thing. Unfortunately the return to US isolationism is going to see increased instability in the world. China is far more likely to take advantage of that than step up as a world leader (they’ll be very pleased that the West is no longer united).

I don’t think Trump thinks much about anything. He doesn’t do thinking. He’s always right, so there’s no thoughts or debate to be had. Consequences? What are they?

He views the world as real estate. Stuff to buy or discard. Look at Gaza. Just boot out 2m worthless people to anywhere and turn it into a theme park with hotels an all that. Boom! Canada, Greenland. Have those. Good real estate with stuff to exploit.

Ukraine? Lots of stuff to nab there. War? What war? Some grubby bloke in a sweat shirt might/might not of started it, but the mush with the frozen face and dead eyes is more powerful. I’ll gain either through him or off him. So let’s get sweatshirt man in the room, humiliate, give him a good shoeing and tell him which way the world is turning. People killed in Ukraine? Worthless - who cares.

He’s a simple very man. Gain, exploit, steal for himself and friends. Dress everything in lies. The boneheads of Baltimore won’t notice and who cares if they do?
