Anybody tried the craft beers brewed by Burnt Mill?

WB Junior has recently started working at Hopsters on Woodbridge Quay and in the interest of keeping him company I have been working my way through the menu of beers.

Very good choice, including an 8% option, can recommend this bar particularly on a nice summer evening. Decent restaurant next door (The Boathouse) and a pizza restaurant (The Woodyard).

Absolutely they make some great beers, and the Woodbridge Hopsters/brewery tap is great little bar, very pleasant in the sun, a little over run by Mumsnet during the day, dont think ive ever been to a craft bar that had high chairs but hey if they're buying stuff its more likely the place stays open which is good.

Pintle I think is their best even if I've never scored it more than 3/5, but its craft when I'm usually looking for cask so it has to work harder to impress me

I'd say pintle is their weakest brew, personally. With craft, it's tricky to pack a huge punch with the lower ABV beers. Big fan of Burnt Mill generally though, their birthday collab beer with the Arcade Street Tavern was a banger.

According to UnTappd I've had over 80 different beers from Burnt Mill!

Their hazy (fog) IPA's are their best beers IMO, usually pretty solid without being quite on the level of Track, Cloudwater, or the other absolute top UK craft breweries. But certainly better than most macro beers you find in your standard pub.

Not been to their Woodbridge bar yet so will have to pay a visit sometime.

Do they serve a glass of white wine or a fruit based drink for the ladies?

Yeah but I dont like the murk ones, it's meant to be beer the craft is making it taste like beer not alcoholic orange or grapefruit juice. It's all.about the subtlety not overpowering you on strength or bombarding your taste buds

Too many craft breweries, Burnt Mill excepted as I don't think they do this just to be clear, just brew alcohol chuck load of strong punchy hops in it, call it a drink and its not.

That's why I like pintle and its perfect on a day like today in the sun, you drink too many 6-8% beers in the heat and you'll be done for the day very quickly.

Agree you have to be careful on the higher ABV beers, think we'll have to agree to disagree on the rest. I used to like a bit of cask but if we're honest, lots of it looks and tastes like ditchwater, so I'm not sure it has that much of a claim to being real beer either.
