Engelbert Humperdinck - But he keeps insisting on some kind of contractual clause.

Always wondered who watches these?

Clearly it's a big deal, but I just don't understand why. A bit like Coldplay I guess

More entertaining than the club world cup crap, and still least a lot of the money involved in the Old Trafford game goes to a good cause, unlike the CWC who probably just line their own pockets!

Carlos Tevez showed he still has the skills. He and Defoe could probably still do a job for us in the Championship. Wasn't Defoe mooted as a possible signing when Gamechanger first took over?

Well miseryguts don’t seem to.

It’s actually good fun, raises a lot of money for a great cause, and I love it.

Putting the finances into perspective, SoccerAid have managed to raise £15m for UNICEF this year - the eventual winner of the CWC will raise £80m+ for their club from prize money alone (Pretty much a reflection of how society now works, with the rich getting richer) Each of the quarter finalists will receive more than the £15m raised by UNICEF in prize money...

Can't see why anyone would have a downer on something that raises so much money for kids struggling around the world, but each to their own...

I'm with you on the fun factor...it's actually my favourite match of the year to watch, as it's always played in good sporting spirit, which is a refreshing change from the pro sh!thousery - plus the games usual throw up a few special moments (Tevez was ridiculous)

Wondering who watches it is very different to thinking it's a bad idea!

I don't watch children in need for example, but obviously think it's a good cause

Spot on.

Defoe also Mr. Reliable (hope this doesn't hex him for future years!).
