Major developments for the women's team on 08:32 - Jun 18 by Zx1988 | When you say 'attendance requirements' does that mean that the club has to get a certain minimum average attendance in order to remain in the league? |
There used to be one that you had to prove you would meet a minimum of 800 fans every week. I guess it was to show development focus, but that has been dropped now for a few years. If there is an issue with the ground, it's like Felixstowe isn't professional enough/high enough standard, which is fine. But we would have had more than half a season to plan a way we could do it at PR, because we've been highly likely to get promoted for a long time. Very frustrating for it to end up at Colchester if it does happen.

Major developments for the women's team on 23:09 - Jun 17 by No_Moore_Kieffer | I'm not sure why it hasn't been announced - perhaps it isn't 100% agreed yet and they're still weighing up the logistics of it, but it was agreed between the clubs and staff at Col U have certainly been told but must be pretty confident it's happening. I think the incentive is the pitch at PR gets protected. Yes, it's "only" 11 extra games, but add in the U21s and it becomes more. Yes, you could just say the 21s don't play at PR, but I think the approach towards a 'one club' model and wanting a more senior environment for the U21s will be factors. Assume if it is all done and dusted, news will be out soon, although it could be that CUFCs take over has changed/delayed things too |
The U21s only need to play 3 games there, so it's not necessary and their pitch is atrocious. I imagine it was just an option mooted but won't actually be the case as totally unnecessary

Our pitch has had a lot of money spent on it last season for the drainage which was taking too long hence the pitch wasn't ready for the season and looked like a ploughed field for most of it. However this close season it has been completely revamped and looks superb at present

Yes, I thought I read somewhere about 800 fans but maybe that is no longer the case. The average attendance in Felixstowe rose to around that level, from hardly any fans a few years ago. I think if the matches are moved outside Suffolk many would feel that had been taken away from them.
