One would assume a new contract has things that work for both parties. I expect there will be some form of release clause in most young (as in below 30) players' contracts. This may be dependent on non-promotion, etc. too. It will always be finding a balance that attracts all parties to sign it. |  |

I’m told that not every player had relegation salary cuts baked into their contract so maybe he was one of those, and we’ve “bought him out” of that with a longer deal, better bonuses and a promise of more if we go up? Does seem a weird deal of what I’ve suggested is true… | | | |
