With McKenna here, I would think we are going to be at the front of the queue for the best young Premier League loanees this summer. We seem to have a good relationship with Chelsea and Brighton in particular. So, some possible options:

Chelsea - Omari Kellyman, Tyrique George, Marc Guiu, Josh Acheampong
Brighton - Amario Cozier-Duberry, Tom Watson, Stefano Tzimas

Off topic, but also wonder if we may go back for Sarmiento or Rak-Sakyi permanently. Both will be available I imagine.

I have a feeling we'll go for Rak-Sakyi permanently, absolutely.

Hutchinson, Clarke, Philogene, Szmodics, Chaplin, Burns, Ogbenie and Rak-Sakyi as options behind the striker would be insane for this level.

I don’t know if Newcastle will let him out, but I imagine we’d be at the front of the queue for Will Osula, if they did.

Mateo Joseph is another one I think we’ll be watching, although, Leeds would want him starting every week.

I wouldn't be surprised if Osula gets more of a chance at Newcastle next season. Wilson is out of contract and moving on, and question marks over Isak's future too.

If Hutchinson did leave, then Cozier-Duberry or Rak-Sakyi would be very good replacements - though Cozier-Duberry would probably require more patience as he's had less experience.

In doing this, I was looking at Brighton's squad. Absolutely absurd. These are their 10/wide options:

March
Gruda
Enciso
Adingra
Minteh
Mitoma
Moran
Buonanotte
Cozier-Duberry
Sarmiento
Watson
Kostoulas

Rak-Sakyi was very average for Sheff Utd last season

Yeah, but he didn't have McK working with him.

Need better than Sarmiento and Rak Sakyi. Both underwhelmed massively last season

It's slightly tricky because there are not too many youngsters that would be much of an upgrade on our starters and if they're getting loaned, the parent club will want them starting games.

I suspect we are probably looking more at loan to buy (even more so with Mckenna's development history).

On the OP, I'm not sure Rak-Sakyi or Sarmiento are any better than what we have. Sarmiento played behind Broady after all who is by all accounts likely 3rd choice next year.

If Sarmiento hadn’t have scored the winner vs Southampton nobody would be mentioning him.

Josh Acheampong would be a fantastic signing if we can't tie Axel down, one that could turn into a 2 year loan for us in the PL in 26/27 if things go as we all hope

Every chance it could become permanent ala Hutchinson as no doubt Chelsea will see that as pure profit for financial reasons.

Disagree with that. I think he really grew into it in 23/24 and was churning out some excellent performances at the back end of that season. He was superb off the bench and giving us a different skill set later on in games - he was brilliant at Coventry in particular. He was basically 6 months behind Omari as he only joined in January. Not saying he will ever hit the heights Omari is capable of but he's a very good player McKenna obviously likes. Ditto Rak-Sakyi - you can't really compare a season playing for Chris Wilder to what McKenna may be able to do with him.

There was people on here the other week advocating that we should've offered Harness a new deal when in reality he was barely making the bench towards 23/24 season as Sarmiento was making more of an impact off the bench than him.

He was more big moments than big performances for me. Not just Southampton, he chipped in with plenty of huge contributions and I do agree he showed signs of improvement as his spell progressed, but he really lacked consistency and was an incredibly frustrating watch at times. Not unusual for a young player cutting his teeth but he's not someone I would be in a hurry to bring back given the options we've got already.

He was their 4th highest goal scorer though, but admittedly, I didn't watch much of Sheff Utd and when I did, it was more towards the end of the season when they went 4-4-2 with Brewster on the right.

He's got the technical ability, but it's about having the right environment, manager and style of football to get the best out of him, which perhaps wasn't the case at Sheff Utd.
