Bluesky / X 22:03 - Jul 12 with 2054 viewsMark

It's a pity ITFC have not posted anything to Bluesky, a platform much like the old Twitter. It seems they have 2,700 followers on there.

I know ITFC are on X, but that platform just gets ever more insidious. The X AI chatbot this week praised and imitated Hitler.

Crikey, two Hitler related posts tonight.

X didn’t just praise and imitate Hitler, they published material calling for the mass extermination of Jews (aside to praising Hitler for his mass extermination of Jews).

It amazes me that people and organisations still want to show support for that vile stuff by staying on there.

I've seen a few luminaries state they wouldn't be ant to 'start again' building a following elsewehere, Mary Beard said it on a program. In the tech sector most people moves out, Kevin Beaumont and Marcus Hutchins included. Seems others are too reluctant to move. The experience for most people on Twitter massively degraded the last 18montha, endless promoted snuff videos and street fight videos. The facism element is the result also of this 'free
speech''. But so news media should not be on the platform, or serious organisations.

Posting to both is an option to begin with, as TWTD do.
At least that gives people an option to move away from X but still follow content in a similar format.

It is deeply uncomfortable.

Seem as they have 300k on X and 3k on bluesky i suppose they decided those 3k most will see it on X better to just do it there, they dont even used the #itfc hashtag anymore so it just saves the club time.

The 3k on Bluesky is despite ITFC not having yet posted anything on there.

The 300k on X probably includes lots of bot accounts, and real accounts which are no longer used.

Very. Organisations prepared to support fascist ideology for clicks. At some point I hope people start asking what’s more important. In terms of financial success, plenty of organisations do very well by being authentic to themselves. You don’t have to stick your head in the sand and be unfaithful to your principles because you’re worried about followers.

It would be nice if the club (and TWTD) could realise this, but we all know money talks sadly.

It would be if the club don’t post on there. People engage on X because that’s where they post. Anyone active would switch if the club switched (or if they switch to any other platform). People are only going to engage with wherever the club is.

To be fair, TWTD have an active Bluesky account, thereby allowing followers to switch over. I included a link but that link does not appear in these posts for some reason.

I emailed the club last season to get them to start posting on Bluesky. Nothing came of it.

The accounts that follow Ipswich on there - me included - have other interests to football and don't simply turn off a social media if one facet of our personality isn't as readily discussed as others.

I'm one as well. There's plenty of active accounts and areas on Bluesky, however I will concede that Football is a bit of a deadspot.
