Crowdfunding for an U10’s football kit 10:24 - Jul 17 with 1877 views | davblue | All, Apologies for the ask but trying to get this spread as far as I can. My boys u10 football team have been playing in an old tired kit which they’ve now outgrown for the last 3 years. A sponsor has pulled out and the team desperately needs a kit for the 25/26 season. We are planning for other fundraising activities but any help towards the target would be appreciated! https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/qr/pnA4pdaW?utm_campaign=sharemodal&utm_medi
Crowdfunding for an U10’s football kit on 10:28 - Jul 17 with 1408 views | bluelady | we raised all the money for our kit (and spare!) by doing a number of things. Selling tea and coffee on match day, i also got some of the football cards off Amazon where you guess team is under the sealed flap, and the children themselves did a challenge evening and got people to sponsor them. hope some of those ideas help, the children really enjoyed being involved in getting their new kit so its a win win.

Thank you for this. It’s hard as a sponsor pulled out and left us with not much time before the new season.
Crowdfunding for an U10’s football kit on 10:55 - Jul 17 with 1303 views | itfcjoe | £1,600 seems an ambitious target, I've just sponsored my boys teams [where they have an A and a B team] and we got 20+ kits [shirt, shorts, socks] for £600, and the same price for my other boys team for expensive rain jackets. And some better deals online, if it is just for one team you should be able to cover it for a lot less then those figures

we have to go through a club supplier and we aren't allowed to use other companies unfortunately. Agree on the costs but the club won't release the club badge if we don't use the correct supplier!

Feel sorry for the kids here because the adults have their petty red tape. If a sponsors pulled out last minute and the club won’t allow any other shirt provider, sense would suggest that the club should probably try to help bridge the gap until other sources can be found. Tough on the kids but this feels like a club problem, not a public problem.

Seriously, f**k the club. Their policy is nuts if they are forcing you to buy a kit that is 3x as expensive as the going rate. I have managed U7 - U10, and have come across this sort of thing. Your guys are not doing their job properly. Ignore them, and source cheaper. You would prob find a sponsor for £600! ....or multiple sponsors of lesser amounts.

Thats shocking a club cant afford a kit. something somewhere is seriously wrong. My guess the kids are attached to the adults and the adults team is spending the kids mooney. I question my club and how they have a stand off mentallity and the manager has to do arrange everthing. I will say my club is ran properly financially and they cover the cost for balls, kits and other stuff needed. The manager is expected to find sponsers though

yeah sponsors are being priced out of it which is understandable. Someone said they would do 1200 but not the rest.

Honestly, grab an image of the badge from online somewhere, and source cheaper kits. What will the club do?! Sack the volunteer coaches and all the kids?!

thinks there's 58 youth teams in total, so even buying just the shirts would be expensive. Doesn't make it right, but it's a challenge to get the sponsorship.

yeah it's not ideal. The boys having hand me down's isn't a huge issue but they are well worn and the kids are growing so fast also!

The people running the club are f**ck wits! Sorry, but this kind of thing really annoys me. Volunteer coaches work their socks off, and wannabe politicians who 'run' the club get in the way, rather than helping. [Post edited 17 Jul 11:33]

Especially at short notice. I'm treasurer for my kids football team. The way I and the Chairman work is we try to keep match fees as low as possible to make it as inclusive as possible, they're simply to cover the variable expenses to play (registration, refs, pitch hire, pitch marking etc). This works out £4 per game, per player. Sponsorship and fundraising covers purchases like kit and equipment. We have a main sponsor who pays £800 a year and a 2nd sponsor who pays £200. We aim to raise the same (£1k a year) through fundraisers, most of which is raised through 1 summer event. Over the last few years we've ended the season with a couple of hundred more than we started each year to give us some buffer in the event we lose the sponsor, but we're not rolling in cash and always try to make it as cheap as possible for parents. Being made to use a kit supplier that doesn't sound very competitively priced is ludicrous to me. [Post edited 17 Jul 11:52]

58 youth teams is alot of turnover and profit for the club mate. The club has the money, if the turnover is not there from 58 teams. then there should be big questions being asked at the AGM. Like previous posters have said if the club wont put up the money for the kit then use a cheaper supplier. No club will sack a volunteer for hussling a new kit, that they cant afford.

Get a kit without the badge. If the Club kicks off, embarrass them on social media. There’s enough angry people on there to make them think twice about their position.
